What to expect at Paris Beer Festival 2024

Being quite a travel enthusiast and one who enjoys tasting craft beers, I couldn’t wait to be part of the Paris Beer Festival 2024. This festival does seem to grow every year, and this year was not any different. The best of the French and international craft brews are showcased. Held against the spectacular Paris skyline, over 150 breweries proudly displayed their craft beers.

What to Expect at Paris Beer Festival 2024

The Paris Beer Festival 2024 is an event no beer lover in and around the city will be able to miss. More than 150 craft breweries from France and across the world will be represented right in the heart of Paris, dishing great varieties of beers—from the most experimental brews to the old favorites, fruiter saisons to the boldest stouts.

But more than the great beers on tap, the festival has an exciting lineup of beer-tasting workshops and tastings, guided tours of how beers are brewed, and enlightening panel discussions by experts in the industry. These are some great sessions that offer the rarest opportunity to learn about brewing and savoring beer and its perfect matching with food items.

Additionally, there is live music playing and food trucks offering gourmet food, together with areas set aside for artisan products such as cheese and charcuterie, as well as pastries from local bakeries.  If you’re curious about previous years, check out my 2023 blog on the Paris Beer Festival.

Essentially, whatever brings you here, beer casual or craft beer aficionado, the Paris Beer Festival 2024 delivers an experience in entertainment and education around crafted beers. So join fellow brewers and mix into the dynamic setting of Paris.

Top Craft Breweries at Paris Beer Festival

As the 2024 edition of the Paris Beer Festival unites the best and most respected craft breweries from international and local heights, the most exciting will be the appearance of French breweries that have carved their niches in the world of craft beer.

  • That is the main reason why Brasserie La Débauche has gained a lot of hearts—innovative, crafty, and audacious beers. Fancifully aged stouts in barriques and sour ales always satisfy their customers.
  • At the very heart of the French Alps, Brasserie du Mont Salève brews hoppy beers—IPAs and Pale Ales—made from fresh local ingredients.
  • Brasserie du Mont Blanc-it indeed goes synonymous with excellence. The Mont Blanc Brewery brews prize-winning beers crystal clear with Alpine water. Taste the mountain in every sip.

In addition to the magnificent French breweries, many other foreign names will be present at the festival, such as Cantillon from Belgium, which is recognized for its exquisite Lambics, and Birrificio del Ducato from Italy, known for farmhouse ale and sour beers. Magnificent brewer diversity means huge variability in beer styles and flavors, with a guarantee that this will be one of the most exciting beer festivals Europe has ever seen.

Best French Craft Beers to Try at Paris Beer Festival

If one makes his way to the Paris Beer Festival 2024, here is the rundown of must-try French craft beers. This is the beer that unleashes your creativity and tradition with innovation bursting from this country into the world’s vibrant brewing landscape. The best:

  • The Brasserie La Débauche’s Imperial Stout is well-recognized for its chocolate flavors, although very nicely complemented by subtle smoky undertones. This Imperial Stout is undoubtedly among the long-anticipated beers during the festival.
  • Brasserie du Mont Blanc’s Blonde: Decorated highly, it would deliver freshness and crispness. Brewed with pure Alpine source water, floral notes are delicately well balanced with light hints of sweet maltiness.
  • Brasserie Parisis’s IPA is a must. Harmonious bitterness with bright undertones of citrus it serves as a model example of what French interpretation is when speaking about the IPA style.
  • Brasserie Sainte Cru’s Pink Panther is refreshing, fruity, and raspberry sour. It has such a nice, tart bite that it’s perfect for any seeking something light to enjoy.

Only the very best French craft beers will be on hand, so take your time exploring the many styles. In fact, more often than not, it is the French brewer who somehow finds a way of exceeding that flavor boundary, adding his own singular view to the world of craft brewing.

MY DAY AT THE PARIS BEER FESTIVAL 2024

Arrival at Paris Beer Festival

Held in the large open space of La Villette, the place was already pulsating with energy. Making my way inside, I was immediately struck by the smell of fresh hops and the sight of live music. It was electric inside—faces from every culture, one big happy family joined together to enter the realm of craft beer.

Visit the Beer Stalls

This was a still more diversified year than 2023, with the addition of new breweries from some of the trendier international spots like Belgium and Italy. So on my personal tour of brews, first I had this lazy farmhouse ale from Paris; very fruity and spicy, perfectly fitting for that afternoon.

Tasting Highlights

Among the other standouts was a jam-maker collaboration in Berlin, the raspberry Berliner Weisse, which was tart and refreshing. More unique were the strong, very particular smoky flavors of wood, vanilla, and coffee in an imperial stout aged in French oak. Very creative brews indeed.

Festive Ambience

In comparison to 2023, the festival was much more about beer brought together in one joyous celebration: the craftsmanship in community beer. From gourmet burgers to exquisite charcuterie boards, once-in-a-lifetime food trucks had it all, accompanied by plenty that could be paired with every single beer. To round off the day, there was live music and artistic interactive brewing of beers, both useful and amusing.
